Bristol Cathedral aids school
BRISTOL Cathedral in the UK has donated Shs4.5 million to equip Mama Jane
Nursery School with learning materials and furniture.
The donation follows a link the orphanage home established with the
Cathedral three years ago.

Students from Hagaz and Mai-Habar Technical Schools graduates 239 students
A total of 239 students graduated from hagaz and mai-habar technical
schools. The Hagaz Technical and Agricultural School graduated 126 students
whom 49 are women in plant science, veterinary science, animal science and
agro-mechanics on 14 April. 69 graduated with diploma and 57 with
certificate.

Jinja College constructs lab
JINJA College is constructing a new laboratory worth over sh900m to boost
the teaching of sciences and computer studies.
The director of studies, David Oryang, said they have put up the laboratory
as a response to the Government's call to promote science subjects in the
country.

UK gives Butiki computers
HAMPTON School in London has donated 80 Pentium connected computer sets
worth sh80m to Kiira College , Butiki in Jinja district.
The donation was received by the school's headmaster, Daudi Mulongo, at a
function held at the school recently.

Austrian NGO builds sh150m hostel for Kasese School
Girls from Kuruhe High School in Kasese district usually had difficulties
completing school because many of them got impregnated by men who visited
their rented rooms, which were far away from school.

The Ministry of Education said primary education coverage in the country has
reached 89.41 per cent.

Wina Technical School graduates 93 students
Wina Technical School graduated 93 students out of whom 31 are women upon
completion of a three-year course in different fields. Accordingly, 17
students graduated in wood work, 23 in electronics, 18 in metal work and 23
in mechanics. The director of the technical school, Mr. Eyob Bein, noted
that the government is disbursing substantial amount of financial resources
towards the development

New method to manage HIV treatment
A NEW Uganda study has confirmed that a combination of co-trimoxazole
(Septrin), antiretroviral therapy, and insecticide-treated bed nets reduces
the frequency of malaria in adults with HIV.
