Zone constructs preparatory school, additional classrooms
The construction of a preparatory school and additional classrooms for an
existing secondary school is being undertaken at a cost of 3.4 million birr
in Seqota town of Waghimra Zone, Amhara State , the zonal education
department said.

KIE donates over 5,000 books
The management of Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) yesterday donated
5,045 textbooks worth US$ 25,500 to public schools and the Kigali Central
Hospital (CHK). The books are part of a donation from Books Aid
International and Books for Africa Aid channelled through the First Lady's
office

Ugandan grandmothers of HIV/AIDS orphans joined their colleagues from other
countries in a three-day grandmothers' conference in Toronto that ended on
Tuesday.

Sudan : Preventing HIV/Aids in the South - a Cash-Strapped Mission

In southern Sudan , slowly recovering from a 21-year civil conflict, the
fight against HIV/AIDS has to compete with other priorities, such as
securing food and safe drinking water, combating other deadly diseases and
the lingering threat of landmines and small arms.
