Rwanda : Guarding Against HIV in Prisons

Kigali Central Prison (KCP), in the capital of Rwanda , has the nation's
highest number of HIV-positive prisoners. "This one [visitor] has been more
difficult to keep out. You can't see it coming and it is impossible to see
it being passed around," said Vincent Rugema, chief prison warden

Ethiopia : WFP, NGOs Sign $9 Mln Agreement for HIV/Aids Programmes

A 9 million USD tripartite agreement was signed on Tuesday between the UN
World Food Programme (WFP) and the Addis Ababa HIV/AIDS Prevention and
Control Office (AA HAPCO) and sixty different NGOs- community based
organizations (CBOs) and health service providers involved in the ten
sub-cities in Addis Ababa .

Officers advised on HIV

SENIOR UPDF officers at the Senior Command and Staff College Kimaka in Jinja
have been urged to encourage fellow soldiers to go for HIV testing.
