Long distance learning to be government sponsored
KIGALI CITY: The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Jean d'Arc
Mujawamariya, has disclosed that the long distance learning project at the
Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) is to turn into a national programme
sponsored by the government when the Department for International
Development (DFID) withdraws its support after a five-year contract

Students raise Frw1.4m for survivors' education
Students from Green Hills Academy in Kigali City have contributed over
Frw1.4m to a education trust fund to help educate most vulnerable survivors
of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. This was revealed yesterday by the council's
founding chairman during a march dubbed 'Walk for the Survivors'.
