KENYA : Back to class in Kibera slums
NAIROBI, 12 Apr 2006 (IRIN) - Maureen Akinyi, a 14-year-old Kenyan pupil who
had dropped out of school following the death of her parents four years ago,
is now back in class thanks to Kenya's free primary education initiative.

SOMALIA : Rare opportunity for hearing-impaired children as school opens
NAIROBI, 11 Apr 2006 (IRIN) - Hearing-impaired children in Somalia's
capital, Mogadishu, now have reason to enjoy a normal childhood, thanks to
the opening of the country's first and only school for students with hearing
difficulties.
