KIE to teach Chinese soon
Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) will soon pioneer in the teaching of
Mandarin, the Chinese language, in the country. The agreement paving way for

New curriculum aims at better Primary Seven products
WITH the new primary school thematic curriculum already in operation, the
National Curriculum Development Centre hopes to get a better breed of
Primary Seven graduates after seven years. Designed for classes from Primary
One to Three, the curriculum emphasises the use of a child's first language
as a medium of instruction before a second language is introduced.

Makerere checks quality
MAKERERE University fell from the 18th position among Africa 's top 100
universities in 2005, to 23rd in 2006. "This is a sign that the quality of
