Kasole determined to reduce illiteracy levels
Buwekula county MP Kasole Lwanga's mission is to reduce illiteracy and fight
poverty in his constituency. He said the high illiteracy levels in the area
are the cause for the increase in poverty in households.

Shimoni pupils get new schools
Over 7 million pupils flooded the gates of the country's primary schools
yesterday on the first day of the new school year.
For the 2,000 Shimoni pupils whose school in central Kampala was pulled down
and the 15 acres given away to an investor, it was more than just a change
of class.

It pays to go to school
OVER seven million primary school pupils and over half a million secondary
school students went back to school yesterday. Another 350,000 will join S1
in two weeks. That is the highest number of young people in schools ever in
the history of Uganda .
