The number of pupils enrolled in primary schools is expected to hit the

Gahakwa appeals to residents on girl child education
NORTHERN PROVINCE : GICUMBI - The Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr.
Daphrose Gahakwa has called on residents of Miyove Sector, Gicumbi District
to put much emphasis on girl child education. She said this would help to

Baganda urged to invest in education
Retired Bishop of Mityana Diocese Wilson Mutebi on Sunday urged the Baganda
to emulate other tribes which have invested heavily in education. He was
addressing parents and teachers of Mityana Modern SS during celebrations to
mark the school's good performance in the Uganda Certificate of Education
examinations.

Kasole determined to reduce illiteracy levels
Buwekula county MP Kasole Lwanga's mission is to reduce illiteracy and fight

Shimoni pupils get new schools
Over 7 million pupils flooded the gates of the country's primary schools
yesterday on the first day of the new school year.
For the 2,000 Shimoni pupils whose school in central Kampala was pulled down
and the 15 acres given away to an investor, it was more than just a change
of class.

It pays to go to school
OVER seven million primary school pupils and over half a million secondary

HIV stigma on decline
Practices of stigma against HIV-positive people are increasingly declining,
the outgoing president of Rwanda Network of People Living with HIV/Aids (RRP
+) has said. Olive Gatesi told RRP+ members and partners during a General
